The Love Projects

Over the past number of years my wife and I have been impacted by a number of ministries outside of our own local church body.  More specifically we have a great interest in the areas of orphan care, international evangelization, and seeing met the most basic needs of “the least of these”.

I believe that to most effectively change lives it begins with Jesus.  Organizations that pair The Gospel with a consistent, physical presence, and who demonstrate a high level of commitment to the people to whom they are ministering, will have the most success relative to making an impact for the Kingdom of God.

There are four types of poverty:  Spiritual, Economic, Social, and Physical.  Every one of these needs should be addressed, particularly with children.   Organizations I respect most highly have displayed that they place a great amount of importance on these needs.

With that being said, I felt like I needed to somehow promote some of these projects that I am familiar with.  Some of them are very well known and the others most people will have never heard of.  Either way, I want to open eyes to the fact that we have an opportunity to partner with some “Love Projects” already on the ground and doing the work of the Lord.  We may not be able to physically go everywhere we would like, but we can support one or more of these projects via prayer AND with our finances.   Therefore, I created the website www.theloveprojects.org which I really just want to serve as a conduit.  I just want to highlight organizations that have a proven themselves to me and show you where to find them.   My plan is to find others and add them along the way as well.

Enjoy.

Seek

As I read slowly and deliberately through the Psalms, God is reminding me of truths that are easily passed over, forgotten, or neglected in my walk with Christ, causing me to pause and examine my heart.  This weekend I landed in Psalm 14 and am still digging there today.

Psalm 14:2 (AMP) says:  The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there were any who understood, dealt wisely, and sought after God, inquiring for and of Him and requiring Him [of vital necessity].

God is looking for someone who is looking for Him.  He is looking for someone who has determined in their heart that He is vitally necessary; Just as water is vitally necessary for the survival of our physical bodies.  He is vitally necessary for the joyous survival of our Spirit man.  He is looking for someone to have a sense of urgency when it comes to longing and searching for Him and who is willing to lay down their carnality and intentionally pickup holiness.  He is looking for a generation of uncompromisingly righteous followers of Jesus Christ.

If we are passive, flippant, or lazy when it comes to our pursuit of Him, it does not reflect a life of desperation for a Holy God.  He must become our one desire, the one in which we place ALL of our trust.  He is the source of all things.  He created us as weak beings so that we wouldn’t be able to walk in our own strength.  He created us as weak beings so that we would have to rely on Him for EVERYTHING; that includes our next breath.  The best part of this pursuit is that He desires to be found.

Jeremiah 29:13 (NLT) says:  If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.

John 4:23 (AMP) says:  A time will come, however, indeed it is already here, when the true (genuine) worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth (reality); for the Father is seeking just such people as these as His worshipers.

Matthew 7:8 (AMP) says:  For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.

Enough said.
